The net flux distributions were determined using fractional [U-13C]glucose feed and metabolic flux ratio (METAFoR) analysis to obtain additional experimental constraints to render an underdetermined metabolite mass balance system solvable. The Matlab function fmincon performing nonlinear optimisation was applied to solve the net fluxes.
