(C) Comparison of observed growth rates (experimental) with growth rates predicted by model iRR1083 providing different carbon sources under aerobic culture conditions. Experimental growth rates were calculated using the Monod growth equation based on O.D values and a biomass calibration curve as described in Materials and Methods. For predictions, experimental specific substrate uptake rates were calculated from HPLC profiles obtained at different time points in the growth curve.
