The top panel is the 3-D Q e plot, and the bottom panel is the same information viewed on a bird’s-eye image. The gap-junction diffusity D 2 = 1 cm2. The cortical model is initialised as a 100 × 100 grid with 20-cm side-length. SIMULINK is set to auto time-step mode. Simulation running time ∼30 s.
