The depicted CreA repression of xlnR is hypothetical. b: The transcription dynamics were classified as: C 1 – a monotonic increasing function, C 2 – a function with a maximum and a lower steady state, C 3 – a function that steadily rises to a maxima, decreases and then again increases (de-repression of transcription), and C 4 – bimodal expression with de-repression. W 1 and W 2 are time window partitions. The term a.u. refers to arbitrary units. Any other parameters are as described in the materials and methods section
