From: A simple gene set-based method accurately predicts the synergy of drug pairs
Overall design of this study. The study was aimed to test the hypothesis that synergy of two drugs can be determined by regulating a common pool of functions and/or genes. Addressing the hypothesis, three prediction methods were devised. We used the DREAM gold standard dataset to validate the methods. After confirming the hypothesis, we then employed the best-performing method to investigate synergistic effects over a wider collection of drugs using the Connectivity Map (CMap) dataset
