Composite profile of essential and competitive metabolites. This profile is considered a "composite" profile because different regions of x-axis represents different variables: negative values on the x-axis correspond to the value of (katt - 1) while the positive values correspond to the value of kint. When the x-axis is equal to zero, the flux-sum is at basal value where there is no attenuation or intensification.
