Comparison of G. metallireducens growth with different electron acceptors. Growth of G. metallireducens was simulated with the oxidation of four different electron donors (acetate, ethanol, pyruvate, and benzoate) coupled to the reduction of electron acceptors nitrate, fumarate, and Fe(III) under donor-limiting conditions.
