Assuming that the initial number of receptors is higher than the combined capacity of both pathways (R0 > CDE0 + CIE0), low and high EGF-stimulations lead to two different steady-states, respectively. In steady-state I, the receptor internalizes primarily via CDE, whereas in steady-state II it is equally partitioned between CDE and CIE.
