From: Mathematical modeling of the dynamic storage of iron in ferritin
Iron release kinetic constant ( k loss ) as a function of the number of iron atoms in ferritin. This model considers a mechanism where the loss of iron is controlled by the iron content in ferritin at low iron levels and by the availability of exit pores at high iron levels.
