This phylogeny shows the relationships among some species in the Drosophila group in which there is a hard polytomy branch. The reason could be that the island species D. mauritiana and D. sechellia branched off from the mainland species D. simulans in a narrow timeframe, such that it is impossible to distinguish which species branched off first and which second.
