Pseudo-gap metabolites. Schematic representation of a situation where there is a metabolite not detected as gap (metabolite D) because of its participation in non-blocked reactions. However, the set of non-blocked reactions in which it participates forms a loop and there is no net production/consumption of the metabolite. As a consequence, the pathway of synthesis of D becomes blocked. The color and line codes are the same as in Figure 1.
