Two novel predicted complexes. (a) Novel yeast predicted complex, annotated with DNA metabolic process and response to stress. The four proteins are fully connected by six literature co-occurrences with strong co-complexness, six functional associations with strong or moderate co-complexness, and five PPI edges with moderate or weak co-complexness. The diverse mix of data sources provides convincing evidence for this complex. A scan through the literature reveals that these four proteins form a complex named Cul8-RING ubiquitin ligase complex [28], thought to be involved in DNA repair and regulation of chromatin metabolism, although our set of reference complexes has not been updated to include this complex. (b) Novel human predicted complex annotated with transport process. These proteins are fully connected by six PPIs with strong co-complexness, five functional associations with strong to moderate co-complexness, and five literature co-occurrences with strong to weak co-complexness. The strong PPIs, reinforced by the other data sources, provide high credibility to this prediction. The Uniprot descriptions for these proteins suggest that they may constitute subunits of a potassium channel complex [29].
